This department offers courses in new age applications in electronics ranging from telecommunication to computers, nano-technologies and microcontrollers to supplement study in areas of generation, transmission and distribution of electricity.

The department supports three domains:

  • Smart power control
  • Power electronics and drives
  • Embedded systems

STUDENT

Students in the department have scored exceptionally well in entrance tests for pursuing further studies in leading institutions in India and universities abroad. The department also sees leading companies opting for campus recruitment every year. Some students have chosen to start a new venture and have succeeded in growing the business.

PROCESS

To constantly improve the learning outcomes the University has put in place:

  • Campus Wide Quality Improvement Program (CWQIP)
  • Gifted Student Development Program (GSDP)
  • Total Student Development Program (TSDP).

These programs are actively monitored by the management.

IDENTITY

The students of the department have won prizes in the field in the field of software and app development in prestigious bootstraps by the likes of Google and Facebook. The association with IEEE, ISRE, ISTE, SSI, IEI , IET, ACM and ACCS enables participation in tech intensive events on the campus.

RESEARCH

The vibrant research culture of the department encourages presentation of technical papers by students and staff at leading conferences. The projects undertaken under domains under the department include those sponsored by industry and research institutions. Tech focused workshops conducted by industry experts and academicians on campus are held through the year.

INFRASTRUCTURE

The department hosts well equipped labs for: Relay and high voltage, Electrical machines, Analaog Electronics,Integrated circuits, Digital circuits, Power electronics, Microcontroller, and Computer simulation. The latest software which includes MATLAB are available for use by the students.

This has helped us constantly raise the competence levels of our students to match the demands of the industry and new research. PES University has nurtured a tradition of research and innovation. The faculty is geared to guide the students not just in the classrooms. One can find them actively participating and guiding in the research labs, preparation for conferences, organizing technology events and handling industry sponsored projects.
